FAQ

What is Chiropractic?

The word “chiropractic” derives its name from the Greek words meaning “done by hand.” Chiropractic is a conservative approach to health restoration, maintenance, and disease resistance. As a natural healthcare method, chiropractic, by choice, does not utilize drugs or surgical procedures. While chiropractic recognizes that drugs and surgery may be necessary at times, Chiropractic attempts to reduce and or relieve patients’ dependence on them. It also understands their limitations and risks. Therefore, chiropractic takes a natural, non-invasive approach to illness.

What is an Adjustment?

An adjustment is the specific manipulation of vertebrae which have abnormal movement patterns or do not function properly. Unless corrected through manipulation (adjustment), abnormal spinal function may negatively impact a healthy nerve flow.

What is Chiropractic Maintenance?

Chiropractic maintenance is longevity care that promotes health and enhances the quality of life. The frequency of visits is determined by you and Dr. Ken. In many cases, you might not even realize your spine is misaligned because you may not be experiencing pain, but leaving it untreated for a long time may cause long term damage. By correcting spinal misalignments and ensuring a healthy nerve flow, Dr. Ken can help your body function more efficiently on all levels. Although back or neck pain often motivates individuals to seek chiropractic care, you do not have to be in pain or discomfort to benefit from chiropractic adjustments.

What Happens in the Office?

Initial Visit

We will request that you provide us with your health history and information on any pre-existing conditions. Your medical background can assist us in developing a unique plan for you.

Consultation

Next, you will have a consultation with Dr. Ken to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, and potential treatment options. This initial visit is designed for the doctor to learn more about you, your condition and expectations. This will determine how chiropractic care can meet your goals, and create healthy habits that ensure an optimal level of health for your lifestyle.

Examination

After reviewing your health history and goals and examining your spine, Dr. Ken will discuss recommendations, and provide the best treatment and wellness program for your individual needs. Every person is unique; therefore, everyone requires a customized wellness plan. The purpose of our wellness program is for you to achieve good spinal alignment, enjoy a healthy diet, exercise, rest, and maintain a positive mental state.
